I had hoped to publish this complete book in 2025. My current draft is over 55,000 words, painstakingly laid out over 155 pages with more than 100 figures. But it deserves another revision; I haven’t touched it since May; and at this rate I may not get around to finishing it before AI can do a better job. So here are the first three chapters, and anyone who wants to read more should let me know!
I think this would be a fantastic resource for many people. I do research and development in small arms fire control (among other things), and most of my young engineers don’t have a substantial firearms or ballistics background. It would be nice to have a reference book to get them up to speed. I hear what you’re saying about AI being able to cover many topics, but for people who don’t know what they don’t know, there’s no substitute for a single reference that covers the topic at a suitable level of detail.
